The next New Mexico Advertising Federation event looks like it might be of special interest to our film and post-production community as well:
Zoic Studios founder keynotes ad lunch
A creative director whose firm has worked in advertising, films and gaming will be the keynote speaker at the nextNew Mexico Advertising Federation meeting.
Loni Peristere is co-founder of digital production companyZoic Studios in Los Angeles. His talk, "Bending the Rules: Using Technology to Maximize and Expand the Possibilities of Media Advertising," will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Hotel Albuquerque on Sept. 15.
He won an Emmy Award for special visual effects for work on Joss Whedon's "Firefly" series. He is a multiple nominee and Emmy winner for work on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and has collaborated with Whedon on "Serenity" and the Web series, "Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog."
Melissa Walters Leymon said the Ad Fed chapter is working to schedule speakers with a national reputation like Peristere because they can show New Mexico members what is being done by the best in the industry.
"Loni is one of the best when it comes to the digital world," she said.
